I saw a video on TikTok where a lady talked about how unbothered she had become about life after losing her brother. She said she had started making the most of life and enjoying it as it comes because you really can't predict what will happen the next moment.
Then I saw another video where a lady talked about how she doesn't care much about what people go through because, if she was able to experience it and survive, then others can too.
After watching those videos, I sat down and started questioning myself.
And I realized that I've lost sympathy.
I used to pay a lot of attention to people's opinions and constantly adjust myself because of them. I used to show so much emotion. I cared deeply about how people felt and what they thought.
But now, I really don't care as much.
I have this mindset that life really just goes on.
That's why I try to make the most of every moment. I cherish moments like they may never happen again because, honestly, who knows? You might never get that moment again.
I do things without overthinking them.
I call people instead of postponing it.
I express myself more.
I say what I feel.
I let myself live in the moment .
I used to be so against people who didn't care, but I think I finally understand them now.
I understand them better.
Because now, I find it harder to show emotions. Sometimes, someone tells me what they're going through and I just think, "It's a phase. They'll be alright."
And I know that might sound cold, but that's genuinely how I feel sometimes.
Maybe experience really is the best teacher.
You never truly know how something feels until you've experienced it yourself. You never really know why someone behaves a certain way until you've been in a situation that makes you understand their actions.
I don't think I've necessarily become heartless.
I think I've just stopped believing that I have to carry everything so deeply.
Life is happening, and I'm learning to live it while it does.
And at the end of the day, we'll all be fine.

My dear, I'm losing sympathy too😔
